The eighth edition of ZSEM’s Conversations about Europe series of forums took place on May 20^th at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. The theme of this edition was “The Future of Europe”. Speakers included Mr. Andrej Plenković, a recently elected European MP representing Croatia, Dr. Brendan Simms, Professor of the History of International Relations at Cambridge University and the President of the Project for a Democratic Union, and Dr. Loukas Tsoukalis, Professor of European Integration at the University of Athens and the President of the Board of Directors of ELIAMEP.

The moderator of this forum was Dr. Josip Glaurdić.

Once again, the organizers of the Miss Universe Croatia beauty pageant have awarded the winner an opportunity to attend Croatia’s best business school, the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. The winner of this year’s pageant is Melita Fabečić, a high school senior from Zagreb.

Students who are currently taking Investments as an elective course taught by Dr. Igor Gvozdanović took part in a field trip to the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) recently. A stock exchange representative held a 45-minute presentation on the history of the ZSE, as well as on current developments and issues that the ZSE faces. The visit to the ZSE was concluded by Q&A session in which our students asked the ZSE representatives a great deal of interesting and thought provoking questions.

From the 17^th to the 19^th of May in the large hall of the Pauk Center and in the cinema of the Stjepan Radić Student Dormitory, the 2013 Professional Forum will take place. This Forum is organized by the Council of Students of Higher Education Institutions of Croatia. The iSTUDIO digital agency organized a competition and education program entitles Digital Marketing Challenge, which was aimed towards student associations in Zagreb. ZSEM’s own Marketing Club was one of the of the teams taking part in this competition, together with teams from AIESEC, eSTUDENTS, and the Croatian Student Association of the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering.
