Economics Department
The Economics Department covers courses that focus on studying fundamental economics research and key scientific contributions. Course programs are tailored to give insight into fundamentals of economic theory and scientific explanations of real economical phenomena, as well as familiarize students with basic analytical techniques in economy and economic analysis, and study current economic situation in Croatia and International Community.
Department holds courses in Economics Basics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economic Geography, International Economics, Economics for Managers, Public Finance and cooperates with courses of other ZSEM departments, e.g. Money and Banking and Financial Markets and Institutions of Finance Department and Mathematic Methods for Economic Analysis of Mathematics and Statics Department.
Economics Department holds Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Public Finance courses in English language for full-time students and international exchange students. It also develops advanced elective courses (Microeconomic and Macroeconomic analysis) for students who wish to continue undergraduate and scientific education on best international universities
The Department’s goals are reached through programs of compulsory and elective courses in which students learn basic concepts of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics and Public Finances, which later helps understand problems of economic reality, national and international market mechanisms and market economy mechanisms of dealing with economic issues. Moreover, one of Departments’ top priorities is continuous assessment of students’ progress and motivation for economic research and analysis through elective English-based courses and higher-level advanced analysis.
