Master of Arts in Economics - 120 ECTS

ZSEM’s Master of Arts in Economics is a two year program comprised of basic courses in the fields of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, quantitative methods and finance, which are also taught in the most advanced graduate programs in the United States and Europe. All classes in this program are conducted in English. Classes are held in the afternoon, and the program will commence next March.
The goal of our graduate program is to educate highly-qualified economists whilst stressing the importance of quantitative methods. As this type of graduate program remains virtually nonexistent within the bounds of the Southeastern Europe, the knowledge acquired in this program will put our students in a more favorable position once they choose to enter the labor market, giving them a comparative advantage over their peers.
Educated at leading universities and with work experience at numerous respected institutions, our faculty is capable and determined to offer you a perfect combination of applied and theoretical knowledge in economics which is comparable with the knowledge offered in some of the best master programs in this field. Our faculty consists of lecturers who have worked or studied at some of the most renowned universities and institutions in the world, such as the Bocconi University, the London School of Economics, North Carolina University, CERGE, the University of Wisconsin, Southampton University, the University of Ljubljana, the International Monetary Fund,, the Croatian National Bank, etc. The Chairman of the Program is Dr. Neven Mates, a multiple time IMF mission chief (including a stint at the IMF mission chief in Russia) and the Chief Advisor to the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.
