About - Zagreb School of Economics and Management


The structure of the study was designed in the way that in the first two years you will listen to basic mathematical and economic subjects with insights into the subjects of mathematics applications in economics and business administration. This way, with the intensive use of information technology and existing software, students adopt theoretical knowledge.In the third year, students learn to independently design mathematical algorithms to solve problems in business practice and deepen their knowledge in the direction of financial mathematics and optimization. In the fourth year, a Capstone course was created in which students will be involved in project design and business case-solving using all the acquired knowledge they have gained until then. Also, fourth-year students are offered elective courses that enable them to be profiled in the direction of financial mathematics and/or optimization.

Lectures and exercises are performed by professors with great experience gained in Croatia and around the world. In addition to these, within the framework of collaboration with the business community, students have the opportunity to listen to external collaborators who share their experience by presenting realistic applications and specific problems that are solved by applying mathematical methods, starting with financial problems, programming, creating algorithms for optimization and, forecasting.

The Business Mathematics and Economics study provides a business – economics – mathematical – quantitative basis for successful work in Croatia, Europe and the rest of the world, in banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions, administration, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, telecommunication, software and other companies. Undergraduate students have all the resources and services of ZSEM at their disposal, from the use of libraries, computer classrooms and online databases, to international exchange and Career Center services. At the beginning of each study year, students in this program receive literature from the school library at their home address. Check out everything that is included in the tuition.
